New Year, New Skin

Glow by Dr.Brandt $65

Holiday stress, bad food and late nights with friends has taken a toll on my skin. I browsed Sephora for some fix-my-face-before-i-look-like-janice-dickenson products. Found some! I snagged the GLOW by dr.brandt two part system and Josie’s Argan Oil Kit. They were around $65 each so definitely a little steep for someone who doesn’t have a job, but we’re talking about my face here people. So I went for em. Haven’t been using them longer enough yet to give any definite conclusions or opinions, but so far I’m loving them both. My skin already feels smoother after using the glow for a few days and the Argan kit comes with this kick-ass foundation that starts out white and color matches to your skin. It’s pretty badass and actually works! I’m a fan so far. Happy New Face Year to me!

Stay Tuned for Updates! Cheers!

ps. This is not a paid/sponsored endorsement although I wish! I actually went and spent some of my last pretty pennies to get these so my opinions and thoughts are all my own. Although if either brand would like to pay me to endorse these further I wouldn’t be mad! Just sayin’.

Currently Obsessed with:

Faux Fur Throws.

I.AM.OBSESSED.

I currently have 3 throws just in my living room and just added a black faux fur one as an early christmas gift. I picked it up on the cheap, cheap from HomeGoods for a mere $16! The great thing about faux fur is that it is inexpensive, but can add so much drama to a room and looks so luxe. Keep an eye out for dark ombre’s, greys or black always look chic and won’t get dirty as fast as a bright white or cream. Keep in mind that if you spring for an animal print make sure it doesn’t look cheesy or fake, because then it just looks silly. So, I’m currently obsessed.

Here are my picks:

West Elm Throw in Ombre $119

West Elm Throw in Ombre $119

Overstock.com Black Faux Mink $61.99

Overstock.com Black Faux Mink $61.99

Roberto Amee Black/Mauve $35.00

Roberto Amee Black/Mauve $35.00

Also, HomeGoods, Marshalls, TJMaxx, and even Target have great options at even greater prices! So grab yo’ self one, grab a glass of wine and snuggle up!!!

Holiday Style Guide: Company Christmas Party

Holiday Style Guide: Company Christmas Party
The holiday season is all about glamin’ it up and having some fun. The workplace can be such a snooze when it comes to “work place appropriate”, so the company christmas party is the perfect time to let your hair down and style ninja out. Obviously, I’m obsessed with sparkle right now, it defines the holiday and just makes everything feel a little extra special and luxe. Pair matte/metallic pumps with a flirty (but still classy) chiffon dress. Now just grab a sugar cookie, a little spike eggnog and relaaaaxxxxx! It’s a party! Loves!

Jingle Bells, Whats to Wear….
I love leopard, I love leather (faux or real, whateve’s) studs and ridiculous rhinestones and sparkle right now. I don’t know why but the idea of mixing textures and inexpensive basics with statement pieces makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Just like that moscow mule makes me feel. Boom!

J’s Green Detox Juice

Ok, now that the Victorias Secret Fashion Show has come and gone, and we’re all inspired to get bodies like those (don’t you find it ironic they schedule it during a time of year the rest of us feel pudgy from holiday eating and pale from lack of sun? We don’t even have a fighting chance.) I feel it’s the perfect time to post my recipe for my green detox juice (technically it’ a smoothie, but whatev’s) Here is Austin, Tx we have an amaze place, Juiceland that produces some fatanstical smoothies, but at $8-10 a pop I just can’t swing it seeing as I’m currently unemployed. Anyways, I’ve been hooked on making my own lately because they are so easy and healthy and a fraction of the price. It is a great way to get a ton of vitamins, minerals and healthy-goodness into your body fast and without having to make a whole meal or sell a body part to buy one.

 Here is goes:

In a blender combine:

1 cup of Spinach: Spinach is FULL of Vitamins, Zinc, Magnesium

1/2 cup frozen fruit: I choose pineapples, mangos, or papaya

1 tablespoon of Spriulina great for antioxidants, very high in protein and essential fatty acids

freshly squeezed 1/2 lemon juice: all around A+ detoxifier

2 cups of water

BLEND until smooth!!! and drinnnnnkkkkkkk up! Obviously everything is customizable, sub Kale for spinach, add flaxseed, add other powders or healthy elixirs. etc you get the picture.

It energizes, detoxifies, hydrates, and nourishes. I’m not mad about it.

Health & Beauty…..commence!
